The PK1858 XD pump kit is specifically designed for 2012-18 Jeep JK 3.6L Pentastar applications upgrading to the SG688/SG688RBig Bore XD2 Steering Gear Box or installing aPSC Big Bore XD2 Cylinder Assist Steering Kit.
This pump kit is essential to providing 50 percent more volume to the Big Bore XD2 Steering Gear Box, an upgrade that improves steering strength and reliability on vehicles equipped with tire sizes up to 37 Inch and performance aftermarket axles, enhancing low RPM performance, and ensuring optimum steering efficiency on any JK project that also includes installing a PSC Big Bore XD2 Cylinder Assist Steering Kit.

PSC recommends SWEPCO 715 Power Steering Fluid for ALL Full Hydraulic Steering Systems.
Always mount the remote reservoir so the fluid level remains higher than the level of the pump.
Feed line from reservoir-to-pump should not exceed 16 Inches in length. Excessive feed line length can create a P-trap type vacuum situation that will aerate the fluid, resulting in excessive pump noise (whining) and/or catastrophic failure.
A large capacity remote reservoir is required with PSC Cylinder Assist Steering Kit installations due to the unbalanced fluid displacement characteristic of the cylinder, allowing the fluid level to change as the cylinder rod extends and retracts.
The 2012-18 Jeep JK High Pressure Power Steering Hose Assembly is known to have a Inchplastic liner that tends to delaminate over time. This can result in debris obstructing the pressure port of the steering gear box, causing the power steering fluid to dramatically overheat and possibly leading to catastrophic failure of the entire power steering system. Due to the significant increase in flow rate and pressure delivery of the PK1858 pump kit, PSC highly recommends our HK2091 High Pressure line conversion kit.
Installing a power steering fluid cooler on vehicles equipped with high performance steering components will help prevent catastrophic pump damage.
